Product Traceability Engineer for Configuration Management

By combining high quality, highly accurate meters with information technology solutions and wireless communications, Elster is taking water metering to the next generation.  This position will transition by mid 2009 from our headquarters in Ocala, FL to our Engineering Center in Raleigh, NC.

Primary Responsibilities
The primary function of this position is to provide detailed BOM revision control throughout the entire Evolution AMR and AMI system, detailing down to individual component levels and ensuring traceability to each customer site. This will be throughout the entire supply chain, working with the developing Elster company and sub-suppliers to ensure full traceability of each and every component is achieved. The position will also be responsible for ensuring updates are known and followed throughout the entire team and Field Technical teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong communication skills to interface effectively and diplomatically with other groups, domestically and internationally.

• Detailed and structure orientated.

• Electrical / Electronic background with working knowledge of RF systems.

• PCBA background / knowledge are preferred.

• Strong quality background, experience in ISO, Q9000 environments.

• Microsoft Suite of products:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.

• Ensure that engineering changes are instituted throughout whole supply chain.

• Assist with part / system change approval by coordinating various inspection reports.

• Have a sense of urgency/drive for results.

• Motivate others and display organizational savvy and be adaptable.
 
Education and Experience
Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with two-five years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.

• CQE, CQA Certification

• Second language preferred-Spanish/Chinese/French
