Primary Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director for Technical Support within the Field Operations Group, the primary purpose of this position is to provide a skill of utility AMI planning, deployments, and maintenance. Responsible for utilizing propagation mapping software and planning wireless fixed networks using requested utility data. Generate reports and graphical maps for sales to present to clients and to justify equipment required to construct networks. This position will also assist in actual field deployments along with Implementation Services and other Technical Support Representatives to ensure proper network construction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Visio and the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Proficiency in mapping and RF propagation analysis software. ICS map server, MapInfo, etc.
• Demonstrate ability to comprehend engineering and operational processes from previous professional engagements.
• Previous experience working with Utility Meters/Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)/Automatic Metering Infrastructure (AMI).
• Previous experience with water, electric, or gas utility endpoints and understands basic utility infrastructures.
• Understands various wired and RF backhaul communications, including processes to establish circuits.
• Ability to create standard operating procedures on network design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Ability to lead and consult team members that have limited knowledge of utility wireless fixed networks.
• Previous experience with obtaining and maintaining FCC licenses.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Positive, can do attitude and a mature personality.
• Professional and discreet demeanor with a high level of integrity.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact successfully with employees, co-workers, and executive management.

Education and Experience
Associates or Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Technical, Electrical, IT or Operations fields, with past experience deploying utility wireless networks, broadband, cellular, IT, and licensed and unlicensed radar. A minimum of five to eight years previous experience in design, planning, deploying, and troubleshooting licensed and unlicensed mesh RF networks is preferred.
