EIS addresses increased need for commission AMI education

Elster Integrated Solutions (EIS), part of Elster Group, announces the appointment of Ed Gray as the vice president of Regulatory Affairs.  Ed is responsible for establishing and maintaining a highly favorable regulatory environment for advanced metering solutions. In this capacity, Ed will work with utility regulatory staff and regulators to facilitate greater understanding of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) technology.

“With the increase in regulatory proceedings around smart metering and AMI, we are pleased to have Ed join our team,” stated Sharon Allan, president of EIS.

Ed Gray stated, “I'm excited about this opportunity with EIS to help facilitate the use of advanced metering solutions that benefit both the utility industry and their customers.”

Ed has broad experience in electric utility regulation, technical project management, research and development, international standards, and executive sales. Ed has 30 years of electric utility experience, 16 of which have been spent in the legislative and regulatory arena.  Ed has held leadership positions at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) prior to joining Elster Integrated Solutions.  He holds a B.S. in Nuclear Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, and an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Ohio State University.  He was a junior officer on two nuclear submarines in engineering and communications.
