Rapid Market Growth Necessitates Repositioning of Executive Management

Ocala, Florida, 7 August 2007. Elster AMCO Water, Inc., part of Elster Group, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of highly accurate, high quality, integrated metering and utilization solutions, announces the appointment of Roman Thomassin as president and regional director Business Unit Water (BUW Region 3). He will lead the North American water business as well as serve as regional director for the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico water businesses. James Gardiner, of Elster AMCO Water, will now be positioned in Europe as regional director of Business Unit Water (BUW Region 2) with executive responsibilities for Germany and Eastern Europe. Both have been appointed to the Executive Team of Elster’s global water business unit.

These management changes are in response to Elster’s rapid growth and advancement in the global marketplace, and will serve Elster’s customers worldwide.

Thomassin, a visionary leader and technical innovator with extensive global management experience, has served in leadership positions in the manufacturing sector, both domestically and internationally.

A progressive change agent and an international and multicultural specialist, Thomassin is fluent in 3 languages and has lived and worked in several different countries including Germany, Slovakia, Colombia, and the United States. He has hands-on experience in a variety of different countries and cultures all over the world in various industries
including automotive, Aerospace, and Energy. Thomassin has built start-up companies in the United States, turned around relocation projects including Slovakia, reorganized companies in North and South America, and restructured companies in various cultures.

Prior to his appointment as president of Elster AMCO Water, Thomassin held several senior executive positions with Elster including chief operating officer for Elster Electricity in Raleigh, North Carolina and general manager for Elster in Bogota, Colombia. As president of Elster AMCO Water, Thomassin will lead the water business for the North Americas, as well as drive business strategy for market implementation of the recently launched evolution™ AMI, Elster’s revolutionary new AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) solution for the water industry.
